Two recent studies underscore the cardiovascular benefits of walking more and boosting your overall fitness level.

The more active you are in your older years, the more good youre doing your hearts electrical system and the more youre cutting your risk of heart attack. Thats according to a study in the American Heart Association (AHA) journal Circulation. Researchers found that older adults who increased their walking distance or walking pace had better heart variability than those who reduced how much or how fast they walked.
