Increasing your consumption of protein, especially from fish, may help lower your odds of having a stroke. Research published in Neurology, the journal of the American Academy of Neurology, found that people with the highest amount of protein in their diets were about 20 percent less likely to have a stroke than those who consumed the least amount of protein.
