Few Women Are Exercising One Year after Heart Attack

After a heart attack, a 12-week cardiac rehabilitation program can get patients back on the road to recovery. But after the thrice-weekly sessions end, apparently the impetus to continue exercising does, too. A study conducted by nurses found that only 37 percent of patients were still exercising three times a week one year later. Worse, women were less inclined than men to continue exercising after supervision stopped.
