Using a cell phone app or a wearable device like Fitbit® or KardiaMobile® to keep tabs on an aspect of your heart health is a growing trend in this country. A survey of 1,000 individuals conducted by Cleveland Clinic in late 2023 found that 60% were using a wearable to track their daily step count, 53% to monitor their heart rate, 40% to track the number of calories they burned and 32% to measure their blood pressure. Other common uses include monitoring heart rhythm and sleep quality.
