Campaign Seeks to Reduce the Number of Second Heart Attacks

The American Heart Association is raising awareness of the steps necessary to lower the odds a heart attack survivor will face a second such event.

It may seem obvious, but staying heart-healthy is a team effort between you and your cardiologist. Dont assume that because you had successful bypass surgery or had one or more stents placed in your heart that youre cured as a heart patient. For the rest of your life you need to be vigilant about your cardiovascular health, as well as conditions such as diabetes that pose a risk to your heart.
