Study: Undiagnosed Diabetes a Factor in Many Heart Attacks

An estimated 10 percent of people who have a heart attack may have undiagnosed diabetes. Researchers presenting their findings at the American Heart Associations Quality of Care and Outcomes Research Scientific Sessions 2014 also noted that less than a third of those diagnosed with diabetes during hospitalization received diabetes education or diabetes medications at discharge.
