The old expression, an aspirin a day keeps the doctor away, may have some truth, as daily aspirin therapy is a widely recommended approach to help prevent heart attacks. But recent research suggests that far too many people are popping an aspirin without consulting their doctor first. In addition, many of those individuals dont need aspirin therapy, and therefore may be needlessly running the risk of other health complications, such as gastrointestinal irritation and bleeding.
