Many studies have looked at the real impact of calcium supplementation on the body, and the most recent research supports the suggestion that high rates of calcium intake is associated with higher all-cause and cardiovascular death rates. Published in BMJ (February 13, 2013), the prospective, longitudinal, population based cohort study of Swedish women shows the association of calcium intake and increased cardiovascular mortality was especially strong if a high dietary intake of calcium was combined with calcium supplements.
