Cleveland Clinic Study Shows Promise for Helping Obese Kids

Starting a generation of kids on a healthier eating style could lead to many more heart-healthy adults in the future.

A four-week, plant-based, vegan diet helped obese children improve their weight, blood pressure, insulin sensitivity and cholesterol levels, according to a Cleveland Clinic study published recently in the Journal of Pediatrics. Researchers suggest that starting children on a heart-healthy diet could lead to improved eating patterns and better health later on.
