Q. My doctor says my “good” cholesterol levels are low, but I shouldn’t worry about it. Why?

HDL-cholesterol (HDL-C) is considered good because it carries fat particles to the liver, which prepares them for elimination from the body. LDL-cholesterol (LDL‑C) is considered bad, because it deposits fat particles in artery walls, increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
