Q. Our daughter is 40 and has two children. She gained weight during her pregnancies and never lost it. Her father and I have high blood pressure. We saw a cardiologist and got it under control. Do you think our daughter should see a cardiologist? She says her ob/gyn takes good care of her.

This can occur because the symptoms are often different in women than in men, and some physicians do not recognize these atypical symptoms or screen for CAD risk factors. Additionally, women delay seeking medical care for symptoms they think are not serious.
