Research Shows Family Stress Linked To Angina
Reducing stress with physical exercise and other wellness behaviors can improve your emotional health and your heart health.
A strong family and social network can be beneficial for heart patients, but recent research suggests that the opposite can be detrimental: Family stresses can take a toll on your heart health. A study of more than 4,500 middle-aged men and women, published online December 22, 2010 in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, found that people who reported that they were "seriously worried" about a family member, or that a family member "demands too much" of them, were more likely to experience angina. Frequent conflicts with one’s partner or neighbors also were linked to a higher incidence of angina.
