We’re well into flu season. Have you gotten your annual flu vaccination yet? What about your pneumonia vaccines? If you’re putting them off and you have heart disease or risk factors for heart disease, don’t hesitate, says cardiologist Leslie Cho, MD, co-section head of Preventive Cardiology and Rehabilitation at Cleveland Clinic. “Influenza and pneumonia can lead to heart attack and death,” she says. “So it is crucial that you get the vaccines.”
