Danger Signal: The ABCs of CRP What to do when a protein in your blood warns of heart trouble.

Theyve also suspected that this biochemical caller may be an arsonist that summons the fire department while fanning the flames. Two new studies heighten the suspicion. They suggest that even people who appear healthy may still be at significant risk if their C-reactive protein (CRP) numbers alone are high. Another study in the works will look for more definitive evidence that CRP itself is a cause and not just a biomarker of heart disease. Subscribers: Non-subscribers: |
