What’s the number one killer of women? If you’re a woman, what’s your own greatest health risk?


Awareness among women has grown since 2000, but few females see heart disease as their leading health problem.
You probably already know that heart disease is women’s greatest threat. Nearly half of women in a recent survey by the American Heart Association (AHA) got that one right. A few years ago, just 34 percent responded correctly to this survey question. But only 13 percent of women perceive heart disease as their own greatest health risk. This failure to see heart disease as an “it could happen to me” threat lulls many women into a false sense of security about their hearts. …
