Preventing Diabetes Can Help Cut Stroke Risk

Managing the disease as soon as you can will cut down on some of the long-term damage caused by diabetes.

The sooner and more effectively you manage your diabetes, the more you can lower your stroke risk. That’s because cumulative effects of diabetes on the cardiovascular system can be devastating, and a recent study found that the longer you have diabetes, the higher your risk for stroke.
